Don Tanani at Nomad St. Moritz: Showcasing the Duality Collection

Updated: Sep 26

In the heart of the Swiss Alps, Nomad St. Moritz stands as a beacon for contemporary art and collectible design, attracting collectors from around the globe. Since its inception in 2017, this traveling showcase has carved out a niche, offering a well-curated selection of design and art works in an intimate setting. Nomad's unique strength lies in its small scale, packed with a variety of exquisite pieces that invite deeper appreciation and exploration.

Don Tanani proudly participated in this prestigious event, presenting the Duality collection, a testament to our dedication to craftsmanship and heritage. Designed by Lina El Orabi, this collection represents a three-year journey of research and development into ancient Egyptian art and symbolism.

The concept of Duality is deeply rooted in ancient Egyptian religion, where each force has an opposing counterpart. This idea is intricately woven into the design of our pieces. Each item in the collection features special finishes.

We showcased pieces such as Ouroboros, Nebu, Kem, Shen, and Atet. Each of these pieces embodies a unique aspect of ancient Egyptian culture and artistry. Ouroboros, with its sinuous form, represents the eternal cycle of life, death, and rebirth. Nebu symbolizes wealth and prosperity, intricately designed with motifs that evoke the opulence of ancient Egypt. Kem pays homage to the fertile black soil of the Nile, crucial for the civilization's agriculture. Shen, the loop of rope, is a symbol of eternity and protection, while Atet represents the sun's journey and the renewal of life.

The Duality collection at Nomad St. Moritz received widespread acclaim for its innovative approach and deep cultural resonance. Collectors and visitors were captivated by the seamless blend of ancient symbolism and contemporary design, a hallmark of Don Tanani’s philosophy.
